PNG to PDF
Screenshots, diagrams and anything else living as PNGs, into one sharp PDF, page per image, built locally.
Guide
How to use it
- Drop the PNGs in (JPG and WebP are welcome in the same batch).
- Order them with the arrows, screenshots usually want chronological.
- Portrait A4 with small margins suits most screenshot documents, landscape suits wide UIs.
- Make the PDF and download.
Examples
PNG-shaped jobs
Five screenshots of the steps to reproduce, in order, one per page. The PDF attaches to a ticket without a zip of loose files.
A sequence of annotated screenshots becomes a hand-out. PNG embeds losslessly, so UI text stays crisp on screen and in print.
A logo PNG on transparency becomes a logo on white in the PDF, pages are paper, and paper is opaque. If you need dark, put it on a dark image first.
Method
How it works
PNGs embed into the PDF losslessly, no recompression, so pixel-sharp UI text stays pixel-sharp. Transparency flattens to white at embed time because PDF pages have no alpha channel.
Everything runs in your browser with pdf-lib. Screenshots of internal tools and private conversations never leave your machine, which is rather the point for that content.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do screenshots stay sharp in the PDF?
Yes, PNG embedding is lossless. Blurriness in PDFs comes from JPEG recompression, which this tool does not do to PNGs.
What happens to transparent backgrounds?
They flatten to white. For a dark-background version, composite the PNG onto a dark image first with an image editor.
Why is the PDF bigger than the PNGs?
It should be about the same or slightly larger, PDF adds structure around the images. If size matters, convert bulky screenshots to WebP first, this tool accepts them.
Can I mix in photos?
Yes, drop JPGs alongside, each format embeds the appropriate way.
What page size should screenshots use?
A4 portrait with small margins works for phone and window shots, wide desktop captures read better landscape.
Is anything uploaded?
No, the whole assembly happens on your device.
