Random number generator
Set a range, choose how many, and draw. The numbers come from your browser’s cryptographic generator, the same source that secures encrypted connections.
Guide
How to use it
- Set Min and Max, both ends are included in the draw.
- Choose how many numbers you want, up to 500 at once.
- Tick No repeats for raffle-style draws where each value can only come up once.
- Tick Sort results if you want them in order rather than draw order.
- Tap Generate. Earlier draws stay in the session history underneath, copy anything you need to keep.
Examples
Common draws
The classic single pick, guessing games, quick decisions, "pick a number between one and a hundred" made fair.
Deal five distinct cards by number. No-repeats makes it a draw without replacement, like pulling tickets from a hat.
Prize draw with 300 entries and three winners: no repeats on, sorted off, and the draw order stands as first, second, third prize.
Method
How it works
Numbers come from crypto.getRandomValues, your browser’s cryptographically secure generator, rather than the weaker Math.random. Raw values are mapped onto your range with rejection sampling, which avoids the subtle bias a simple modulo would add when the range does not divide evenly into 2³².
No-repeats draws keep sampling until the requested count of distinct values is reached, equivalent to drawing tickets from a hat without putting them back. Everything happens on your device.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Are these numbers truly random?
They are cryptographically random: unpredictable in the strongest practical sense, seeded by your operating system’s entropy. Nothing short of physical hardware does better.
Are min and max included?
Yes, both. 1 to 10 can produce 1 and can produce 10.
Can the same number come up twice?
By default yes, each draw is independent, that is what random means. Tick No repeats to force distinct values.
Why can’t I draw 20 unique numbers from 1 to 10?
Only 10 distinct values exist in that range. The tool will tell you to lower the count or widen the range.
Can I use this for a prize draw?
Yes. Number your entries, draw with no repeats, and note the results with the history list. For anything regulated, record a screenshot and your entry list at the time of the draw.
Is there a pattern if I generate lots of numbers?
No usable one. Streaks and repeats will appear, that is expected in genuine randomness, but nothing about past draws predicts the next.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page is loaded the generator is entirely local.
