Random number 1 to 100
The range is already set. Tap generate and you have your number, 1 and 100 both included.
Guide
How to use it
- Tap Generate, the 1 to 100 range is preloaded.
- Need several? Raise the count, and tick No repeats if each number may only appear once.
- Tap the copy button to take the result wherever it is needed.
- Previous draws stay listed below until you leave the page.
Examples
Ways people use 1 to 100
The guessing game, played fair: generate once, keep it hidden, and give higher-or-lower hints. Binary search finds it in seven guesses, maths students take note.
Decide something with a stated probability: "70% yes" means generate once, 1 to 70 is yes, 71 to 100 is no. One draw, no arguing.
Sell squares 1 to 100, then draw one number with everyone watching. The session history is your audit trail for the runners-up.
Method
How it works
This is the general random number tool preloaded with min 1 and max 100. Values come from the browser’s cryptographic generator and are mapped onto the hundred outcomes without bias, each number carries exactly a 1% chance per draw.
Draws are independent: a 37 now says nothing about the next draw, and every number from 1 to 100 remains equally likely.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is every number really equally likely?
Yes, exactly 1 in 100 per draw. The mapping uses rejection sampling, so no number gains the sliver of extra probability naive implementations give.
I got the same number twice in a row, is it broken?
No, that is a 1% event per draw and you will see it regularly across many draws. Forced-different draws are what the No repeats option is for.
Can I do 1 to 1,000 or 1 to a million here?
Yes, edit the max box, the preset is a convenience not a limit.
What are the odds of guessing the number?
1 in 100 blind. With higher-or-lower feedback and optimal halving, it takes at most 7 guesses.
Can I draw all 100 numbers in a random order?
Yes: count 100, No repeats on. That gives a full shuffle of 1 to 100, useful for randomising a class list by assigned numbers.
Do you log my draws?
No. The history list lives in the page and disappears when you close it.
