Dice roller

Any table’s worth of dice, from a single d6 to ten d20s, rolled with cryptographic randomness and totted up for you.

Guide

How to use it

  1. Choose how many dice (1 to 10) and how many sides, d6 for board games, the full polyhedral set for tabletop RPGs.
  2. Tap Roll. Each die shows its own face and the total is summed underneath.
  3. Reroll as often as you like, the history keeps the last ten rolls with their totals.
  4. Board game missing its dice? Leave this page open, 2d6 is one tap.

Examples

Standard rolls

2d6

The board-game workhorse. Totals 2 to 12, with 7 the most likely at one roll in six, which is why the robber works the way it does.

4d6

RPG ability scores: roll 4d6 and add the best three. The per-die display makes dropping the lowest easy.

1d100

Percentile rolls for loot tables and luck checks. One die, 1 to 100, no need to pair percentile dice.

Method

How it works

Each die is an independent draw from the browser’s cryptographic generator, mapped to the die’s faces with rejection sampling so every face is exactly equally likely, no modulo bias, no worn corners.

Multiple dice are rolled as separate draws and summed, so 2d6 correctly produces the triangular distribution (7 common, 2 and 12 rare) rather than a flat 2 to 12.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are these rolls as fair as real dice?

Fairer. Manufactured dice have measurable biases from drilled pips and uneven edges, a cryptographic draw has none.

Is 2d6 the same as 1d12?

No. 2d6 totals cluster around 7, 1d12 is flat. Games choose one or the other deliberately, match what your rules say.

Can I roll different dice together, like d20 plus d6?

Roll them as two quick rolls, the history keeps both lines so you can add them. Mixed pools in one roll are deliberately out of scope.

What is a d100 for?

Percentile systems: roll under your skill to succeed. It replaces the traditional pair of tens-and-units percentile dice.

Does it remember my rolls?

The last ten stay in the session history and vanish when you leave the page. Nothing is stored or sent.

Can other players verify my roll?

Screen-share or roll at the table on one shared device. There is no server log, honesty infrastructure is the group chat screenshot.
