Reverse text
Four flips from one box: letters backwards, words in reverse order, upside down and mirror-image. Copy whichever mischief you came for.
Guide
How to use it
- Type or paste the text.
- Reversed letters flips every character: "hello" becomes "olleh".
- Reversed word order keeps words intact but runs them last-to-first.
- Upside down and mirror swap in Unicode look-alikes, they paste anywhere text pastes.
- Copy the row you need.
Examples
What each flip is for
Letter reversal: palindrome checking, silly usernames, and the occasional puzzle answer. Run it twice and you are back where you started.
Word-order reversal restructures sentences without touching the words. "Home we are going" territory, useful for testing how word order carries meaning.
Upside-down text in a social bio or message survives because it is genuine Unicode, not an image. It reads fine to humans and baffles casual copy-paste.
Method
How it works
Letter reversal walks the text by full character (not byte), so emoji and accents survive the trip. Word reversal splits on whitespace and rejoins in reverse.
Upside down and mirror substitute visually rotated or reflected Unicode characters, IPA letters, archaic forms and mathematical symbols pressed into service. Coverage is strong for lowercase, decent for capitals, and gaps pass through unchanged.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will upside-down text work on WhatsApp / Instagram / X?
Yes, anywhere Unicode text pastes. It is ordinary text as far as the platform knows.
Why do some characters not flip?
No convincing upside-down look-alike exists for every character. Unmatched ones stay as themselves rather than turning into nonsense.
Can screen readers cope with flipped text?
Poorly, they read the substitute characters literally. Keep upside-down text decorative, never for information that matters.
Is reversed text a cipher?
Only against the most casual glance. Anyone can reverse it back, including this page, paste reversed text in and reverse again.
Does emoji survive reversal?
Letter reversal keeps emoji whole (no half-emoji), upside-down mode leaves them unflipped, there are no upside-down emoji look-alikes.
Is anything sent anywhere?
No, every transformation is local.
